G R Pro-clean was born from the love of sailing and a passion for the sea. Englishman Jim Herculson, a lifelong yachtsman from Norfolk, had a determination to keep his boat in ‘showroom’ condition. But having used numerous conventional cleaners with little success, he decided there had to be easier ways of keeping the GRP surface of his yacht clean, stain and scuff free.

He was particularly concerned at the damage caused by other products, generally abrasive, to the gelcoat, the outer skin of the fibreglass. If the gelcoat is worn away, the boat is damaged beyond repair.

Jim, with over 20 years of experience in the field of synthetic resins and chemicals, developed a complete range of products to deep clean fibreglass vessels without any abrasion or damage, keeping them clean and protected against weathering and UV rays.

Gradually the sight of one gleaming, stain-free, yacht amongst many tired yet younger boats caught the attention of fellow yachtsmen and his local boatyard started using the products. Hence G R Pro-clean was born and today there are G R Pro-clean licensed operatives all over the world.
